Anything But Gray

There is so much that I have not blogged about that certainly SHOULD be talked about…:-)

I cannot believe the summer is almost over and we are 8 days away from the kids starting school again.  Crazy how fast this summer went by….

All in all, it was a good summer….the kids got to go to two amusements parks.  They read over the summer and did some math work to keep their minds active. They enjoyed the sunshine…they went to the pool..they went to a lake…they did a lot this year and they are both excited for school to begin, which is FANTASTIC for me. LOL 🙂 I, too, cannot wait for school to start!

But one of the best things of the summer was Kim's visit. She went to Europe and she stayed here for a few days on her way back to Alaska.  It was beyond nice to have her here. To look up from my computer and see her reading on the couch. To have coffee with her in the am. To see my kids chat her ear off and seeing how excited they were to see her. To hear her and Zak laughing together. To sit outside in the hot summer sun with a glass of wine, in the middle of the afternoon and just chat. All of it..just pure bliss.

Whatever she wanted, that's what we were going to do. If she wanted to do tourist stuff..that's what we'd do…but boy was I hoping she just wanted to sit around and drink and talk. I didn't want to share her. I know it sounds crazy…I'm 38 years old and I did not want to share my friend with tourist attractions. LOL But, there it is. And, lucky for me,  that is exactly what she wanted to do. Just sit and chill and talk and drink and just….be. Nothing major, no agenda. Just chill.  For me, that is the BEST kind of visit….just being together like everything is normal. Like she's just stopping by for a visit on her way home from the valley except I got her for three whole days. AWESOME.  The only downside….it made me miss her even more. Okay 2 downsides….the bugs were bad when she was here and she got BIT UP. I did too but mine weren't as bad as hers. But back to the one downside….LOL…..it reminded me just how amazing she is…how fun, funny and just….enjoyable she is to be around and I can't wait to see her again, already…..:-)
