• This was bound to happen…..and I think they are freakin' BRILLIANT.

    Do not email when drunk!

    I love the name!!

Although, I have to wonder…..will this really help?
I'm pretty positive that every time I have sent a drunken email that I regretted later,  I could still add.
    Or maybe I couldn't?
    It wasn't like I tried first…..
Hmm…this could get really bad, really fast.
I can so see me….a few drinks into the night….wondering…..
How drunk do I have to be before I can't do math?
Because yes, at my age, I am still that dumb when I am drinking.
You know the kind of dumb that makes stupid dares appealing.  (let's just say you do NOT want to double dog dare me to do anything when I've had a few….outside of inflicting pain upon myself….because apparently wussiness overrides stupidness in a drunken state.)
That could so seriously turn into a dare…..

    I kid! (kinda….)

Seriously…..I don't know that this is going to thwart people….(what a great word that is…thwart.)
I'll be curious to see where this goes….like how much it's used….who's using it….who's just turning it into a party trick….that kind of stuff…..

Really, I'm just digging that someone thought it up!
    It's about time, actually!

    ha!

  • helps keep your mind distracted….

This made me happy…on an otherwise down kind of day. Nothing major….just having a pity party and feeling like I can't do anything right. I didn't send out invites cause it's a pretty lame party and nothing anyone can do to help anyway. I'll get over it.

ANYWAY..when these guys broke up, I was really bummed so I was happy to see this today….Yay!

Anyone who can make a video like she did with Matt Damon, rocks in my book and it made me think they must be a fun, funny couple. I dig 'em and hope they can make it work!!!

  • Once in awhile I get a forward that makes me literally laugh out loud.
Tina sent me one yesterday and I thought I'd share because I think it is that funny….

WHY YOU NEVER QUESTION A DRUNK

I was shopping at the local supermarket
    where I selected:

    A half-gallon of 2% milk,
    A carton of eggs,
    A
    quart of orange juice,
    A head of romaine lettuce,
A 2 lb. Can of coffee,
    and
A 1 lb. Package of bacon.

As I was unloading my items on the
conveyor belt to check out, a drunk
standing behind me watched as I placed
the items in front of the
    cashier.

While the cashier was ringing up
the purchases, the drunk calmly stated,
    'You must be single.'

    I was a
bit startled by this proclamation, but I was intrigued by the
    derelict's
intuition, since I was indeed single. I looked at the six
    items on the belt
and saw nothing particularly unusual about my
    selections that could have
tipped off the drunk to my marital status.

    Curiosity getting the better
of me, I said: 'Well, you know what, you're
    absolutely right. But how on
    earth did you know that?'

The drunk replied, 'Cause you're ugly.'

    LOL
    Funny, huh?
    You laughed out loud, right?

    You're welcome!
    🙂

  • Look at the pictures and then try to guess where we're going tonight…

    .

Can you see? Can you tell what those train cars say? Okay….we'll get closer.

Yay!!!! We're going to the CIRCUS!!!
We used to go every year for my sister's birthday because it came to town right around her birthday and we loved it! I haven't been since I was about 14, so I am soooo excited!!! AND….the kids have never been, so I cannot WAIT to take them AND (oh yes, there's more…) Zak has never been!!!!
I am so excited I can't hardly stand it. I was jumping up and down in the box office when my most awesomest mommy bought the tickets!

Yay!!! We're going to the circus!!!!!

    🙂

  • Check out my little rockstar!!!

    How cute is that??
    I love it!!!!
Kayla rocks….she loves doing stuff like this with the kids and they love doing it. She's so good with them and they adore the ground she walks on. I am so happy she is here with us and when they do things like this…then I'm really happy she is here with us!!

I Love the World – The World Girls

Jaime is thrilled to death that this is on youtube..she thinks she's famous now!
shhh….I dont' have the heart to tell her she's not.
    ha!!!
    🙂

  • Yay! I got Ben's birthday pictures downloaded. 🙂

    Enjoy!!

His cake his awesome Daddy made him! It was delicious!!

Ben blowing out the candles. That's Kaden, Shelly's son on the left and me holding Juan, Billiejo's son, on the right.

Kaden trying to swipe the candle and Ben having no part of that! ha!

    My auntie and my mummy.

Kayla, Josh, me, Dakota and Ben.

Kaden and Jake helping Ben open his gifts. I love how intently Ben is looking at the gift….lol

    Juan, Jaime and Nana…:-)

It rained and I was so bummed but it was a good party, all in all. Ben made out super good!!!
I was so happy that Shelly and her boys, Steve, Billiejo, Juan and Auntie all made it. While I missed the people who spent his first four birthday's with him (Ceci, JR , DJ, Uncle Marky, Kim, Danielle and Joey and Shannon and Cierra……) it was nice to share his birthday with people that have never gotten to be with him on his birthday.
He had a blast and so did all of us!

We totally didn't get our traditional holding up the fingers shot of the whole family, but we'll do that one day this week or something. It just got too crazy and with the rain, everyone pretty much had to squeeze into the house! Chaos!!
    But a fun chaos!

  • So we wake up this morning and it's raining. It's the first time it's rained on a school day since the kids have started school. I had no idea how to dress them! That sounds bizarre, but I can explain…

Up in Alaska, the kids play in the rain. You just dress them for it. Because if they didn't play in the rain, they'd never get to play outside! Well, here it's different. Here a rainy day is treated like a rainy day. People stay inside….it's so freakin' weird!

So I honestly did not know how I should dress the kids. I didn't know if they would have recess or not.
I wound up putting them in raincoats but their regular shoes and when we got to the school to drop them off, I asked the teacher that was outside about it. Apparently when it's raining the kids don't have outside recess, they stay inside.
    Whoaa….just whoa!

The things that we have to get used to….so weird to see a little rain keep the kids inside.
    Weird….good, but weird…LOL
And I bet anything my full of attitude 7 year old daughter is gonna bitch about it when we pick her up. I bet you anything she's gonna have something to say about that….LOL

Last night was a BLAST up at Dave and Wanda's. It was so nice to see them and visit.
They both looked really good and sounded really good.
It was cool. Wanda made martini's and her and I were drinking and we stepped outside so I could smoke.
I loved that me and Wan could step outside and leave Zak and David to talk and know it wouldn't be awkward.
I've always said those two remind me of each other. Zak and David…they think in the same kind of way a lot of times, I've noticed. And it was nice to see it actually happen.
Zachary said he enjoyed himself, he had a good time talking to David and he had fun.
    YAY!!!!
I love David and Wanda bigtime and they mean so much to me and I really want to spend some more time with them now that we're back here and Zak enjoying himself and having a good time is AWESOME!!! I hate when I feel like I'm dragging him somewhere with me…that's not fun. So I'm hoping we can get together again soon.
Wanda and I were talking about her and me getting together to do stuff and I'm really excited about that!
    I can't wait…

hopefully my crazy life will slow down a bit so I have time to go have some fun "girl time" with Wan!

Today is nuts, trying to get everything set up for Ben's birthday. I'm bummed it's raining and I keep praying it'll clear up by tomorrow, but it's not supposed to. Figures! I was so excited for Ben because September is always super crappy in Juneau and I was thinking how awesome it would be for Ben to get a nice, sunshiny bday…yeah, so much for THAT! Oh well…I bet he won't care either way. 🙂

    Off to get stuff done!!!

  • I'm supposed to be doing a million other things, but I had to post some more pics…..
    shhh!! lol

These are of Ben's first day of school.
He was so excited and you can tell!
The kid couldn't smile big enough!
    Love it!!

Cute picture! (this is the picture that motivated me to get my butt back in shape…wow…just wow….waaayyy too big, Mama! ha!)

Same pose, almost. You can see his face better in this one. And how OLD does my daughter friggin' look in this picture! She's just getting way too big for me. LOL

Ben being shown where his seat is.
    Wow!

and there he is…my little baby boy turned into a school age boy!
I can't believe it….as J said today….I don't have babies anymore, I have "kids" and it IS a weird feeling.
I don't feel grown up enough, half the time, to be a parent of kids. It sounds stupid, but seriously!
I feel like I'm still trying to figure shit out, let alone be teaching a whole other person the stuff I know!
    ugh!
Good thing it'll take them a long time to figure out that I really don't know it all!

Zak and I are heading up to Dave and Wanda's tonight.
I am so excited, I haven't seen them yet, since we've moved here!
Can you BELIEVE that? I can't….
Anyway, it should be a blast and I can't wait!
First of all, to see them, obviously, but secondly it'll be a nice night out, just me and Zak.
I'm really looking forward to the drive. 🙂
I love being alone with him in the car…..nice long drives rock!

    More pics soon!

  • It turned out to be the CARD that was a problem, not my card reader.
Regardless, I got my pictures downloaded and here is a bunch for you!
    Enjoy!!

How awesome is this picture? I want to frame it…such a good picture of both of them!

Thing 1 and Thing 2 watching the ducks….no one will ever really know how much it means to me to be able to bring my children to Cogshall Park.

Ben being Ben…"Look Mommy, I can fly!!" I so love that boy….

Kim on my phone with Tina! I loved it…Kim gave her a hard time when I handed her the phone
"You are calling Joanna when you know that we are at Cogshall with our kids, sharing a special time?!?!?"
So funny….and it makes my heart happy when they "bicker" over me. I feel loved. And really, I was glad that Tina called because then, in a way, we got to be there together.  I know Kim was too, she just likes to pick on Tina.

I took Gabby with us and here's a picture of them. How cute are they??

I love this picture!!!! She looks so much older in it, but otherwise, I love it.

This picture is a quiz….if you know me, really know me, you will probably know why I took this picture.
It's a picture of a large boulder that is in Cogshall, there are quite a few of these throughout the park. One of my most favorite conversations I've ever had with someone, was regarding these memorial benches, rocks, stones that they have in Cogshall. James and I were walking in Cogshall and we passed one of these memorials and I said…

"I want one of those when I die…I hope there's still room to put one in here."
James put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me close…
"You'll have the biggest one in here, baby."
So cool. It's one of those simple moments that make you feel so good that you record it in your mind and save it for the rest of your life….

Anyway..so that's the quiz, you tell me why I love this particular memorial.
(there are two of you that I am certain will know right away….and a few more that I think might know)
    This is fun! ha!!!

I have tons more and I'll post them soon.
It has been another crazy busy week, with getting ready for Ben's birthday and stuff.

I'm heading out tonight to go hang out with Shelly, which I'm excited about.
I love being out on a nice September night!

In other exciting news…Kayla got a job!!!
    WHOO-HOOOO!!!
oh and a bunny! His name is Pete and he is so stinkin' cute I can hardly stand it!! LOL

Sorry for the spastic post but hopefully because it's full of pictures, you'll forgive me!
    Enjoy!!!

  • Big day yesterday….well, kinda big.

Zak fixed my card reader so I should be able to download my pictures, FINALLY, today!
I am so super excited about this. I have no been able to get my pictures off my camera all summer long!
I have, what I think, are some very cool pictures from when Kim and me and the kids all went to Cogshall when she was here this summer. Not to mention pictures of our apartment! I cannot wait to check out all my pictures! lol
If all goes well, I should have a bunch of pictures to put up later today.
He did it late last night so I haven't had a chance to see if it actually works, so keep your fingers crossed for me! lol

He also fixed the printer so that I can actually print again.
We have the printer networked so that it can be used from both mine and Zak's computer. Well for some reason the stupid thing just quit working from my computer. It has been driving me crazy!
    So annoying…
On the plus side, I've probably saved a small fortune in ink costs because I haven't been printing anything. lol

I love when little things get fixed…..and actually neither of these things were "little".
Both were pretty important things that have been really, really frustrating to me…..
so it's a big deal to me that the are fixed.

As soon as I drop the kids off at school I am gonna rush back here and try to get those pics downloaded.
    Good luck to me!
    ha!
