Not my fault this time!!!

Ice storm struck….we survived…..everyone is saying they have never seen anything like this….I'm getting really tired of showing up in places and experiencing "holy shit! That hasn't happened in 60 years!" or "Holy shit! We've never seen anything like this!" weather….

  • go to Alaska…proceed to experience the 2 wettest summers in history, back to back. '91 & '92.
  • Move to just outside of Pensacola, Florida…promptly get hit by 2 hurricanes. Pensacola hadn't had a direct hit from a hurricane in 60+ years.
  • Move back to Alaska…experience the hottest summer ever and the winter with the most snowfall, ever.
  • Move back home….and experience this ice storm…not to mention the abnormal t-storms everyday for weeks this summer.

What, I ask, is up with that?? LOL  As if my life wasn't crazy enough, like I need the weather to contribute??

But let me digress….I have never lost a home to fire or flood…nor a loved one….and I have been witness to people who have…so I have to consider myself lucky.

I just like to bitch. <wink>

    You have a good reason to bitch…  ice storms really suck! I worked at a hotel near Bradley airport (and we housed flight crews) in the mid 90’s and we had an ice storm hit one year on April 1st. We lost power, had to find alternative housing for the flight crews, health inspector came in to make sure we had closed the restaurant. It really sucked…..Hope power is restored to all soon! Stay warm!

    Thank you!!! I think a lot of people without power are looking at it like an adventure…although how they are doing that is beyond me! Talk about pain in the ass…right before Christmas, to lose power like this! ugh!!! My girlfriend, who lives about an hour away from me, got it worse than we did. The schools won’t be open all week in her area…same for another friend who lives 10 minutes from her…..so I have to count my blessings. I just cannot get over how much damage ice can do! lol.Maybe living in Alaska disillusioned me or something…..

    Thank you!!! I am so glad we are fine, too. 🙂 It’s the new mom syndrome….and I so know how that goes. Pretty much the only thing that caught my attention, as far as news outside of my immediate area, when Jaime was an infant was 9/11….I miss YOU. ( Did you see my im’s today? I was wanting to chat cause I miss you! lol We are so on the same page sometimes! lol) I hope you are enjoying the holiday season….I have always loved Christmas (as you already know…lol.) but I fell even more in love with it once I experienced it as a mom. So I wish the same for you, mon amie!
