That picture is beautiful. It's picturesque. It's romantic.
It's dreamy. It makes you want to come here.

IT'S TOTAL BULLSHIT!!!

Now, I will say that Alaska is certainly beautiful. It truly is. 16 years later there are still moments that take my breath away. I still have moments where the sun is hitting the mountains just right and I think to myself how lucky I am that I get to see this everyday. I really do appreciate the beauty of Alaska. It is amazing!

But that picture….that picture is just so not representative of ANYWHERE in Juneau.
Well, obviously it is….but beats the hell out of me where.
I sure as fuck haven't ever seen a scene like that one.

I don't know, maybe I've just been here too long.
To me that picture looks like somewhere down south.
On some college campus or something.
It just looks like the real world (how we fondly refer to the continental United States.) to me and Juneau is so not the real world. Which I'm not saying is good or bad, I'm just pointing out, here does not look like down south.

What do they call that…like pulling one over on someone….ahh….right.
